Things can get particularly contentious when members of families begin to get angry at one another for what they do or don't do around the house. It is a common cause of disagreements among relatives who live together, and the consequences can prove to be heavy when conflict reaches its peak.
In this story, a 17-year-old girl was tired of her, her mom, and her siblings taking on most of the responsibility when doing the dishes, and so she asked in the family group chat if somebody, such as her stepdad or stepsister, could take on the task this time. Her stepdad replied angrily, claiming she did nothing around the house and didn't pay the bills.
In response, the teenager decided to stop doing any chores whatsoever, with the house of nine people becoming increasingly dirty and chaotic over the course of a few days. She wondered if she had taken things too far.

The worst person to annoy in a household is the one who spends the most time keeping it clean.
When such an individual is provoked to the extent that they stop doing their chores, it will not be long before everybody who lives in that house is going to know about. It is one of many reasons why it is usually a better idea to have an equitable division of household labor, although there are plenty of circumstances that make this something that is difficult to achieve. When our living spaces fall into an unpleasant state, it is much easier for other aspects of our lives to follow suit.
Nonetheless, many people find it all too easy to take for granted the work that a roommate or family member does for them in their home. It can get to a point where it doesn't take much for them to feel like they have been pushed to the limit, and then the chaos ensues.
